If you are a nature lover and you dare to do a two-day trek, there is the option of doing a guided trek from Chefchaouen to Akchour. And guided with a guide.
During the day of departure you will walk for about 8 hours, and although at first 8 hours take a little back, during these hours you will visit incredible and beautiful places. In addition, there are several stops along the way that make the route very complete.
The first stop we made was in the Regional Natural Park of Talassemtane.
During the first day you will also arrive at the village of Afeska, but it will not be until Azilane where you will finally reach the end of the day's trekking, you will have a typical Moroccan homemade meal and sleep in a hostel.
Once dawn, after breakfast, the trekking restarts until reaching the bridge of God. It is a rock formation, created naturally that resembles a bridge.
Very close to here you will finally arrive at the Akchour waterfalls, where there are also small lagoons. The landscape is beautiful and the desire to get into the water makes it impossible not to take off your shoes and take a dip. After a stop for a bathroom and lunch, you will continue the trekking until you reach the town of Akchour.
Once you arrive at the town of Akchour, you will have to return to Chefchaouen on your own. This transfer is not included. The cost of the taxi cost us 22 euros.
It is a very beautiful trekking and although we arrived a little exhausted, we enjoyed it a lot.
We booked the excursion from Chefchaouen, with a local agency. However, it was a last minute decision and we almost ended up without a guide. You can book your trekking in advance with the civitatis company.
If the idea of doing a two-day trek does not excite you much, there is a more enjoyable option of visiting the natural environment and the Akchour waterfalls. You can book an excursion so you can enjoy this wonder of nature.
TIPS TO PREPARE WHAT YOU NEED TO DO THE TREKKING
To do the 2-day trekking option it is important that you go prepared and for your comfort you should bring:
