Mount Rinjani is located on Lombok Island and trekking to the top is a very popular experience among hiking lovers.
Mount Rinjani is located in the Mount Rinjani National Park, located in the center of Lombok and has an altitude of 3726 meters. If you are thinking of traveling to Lombok and you are not sure whether to add this trekking to your itinerary, keep reading as I tell you about the experience.
In order to climb Rinjani you will need to book a 3 day, 2 night tour. There is the possibility of doing it on your own, although it is not recommended.
When you start the tour, in the lower part of the mountain, you will travel through rice fields, waterfalls, trails between parts of the jungle and thick vegetation, you will cross several rivers...
As you go up, temperatures begin to drop sharply, so you should take this into account when preparing your backpack.
The upper area, the lake in the crater and the top of the mountain, are more arid areas, with a lot of wind and with spectacular views dyed in an intense green.
Where to book the trekking to Mount Rinjani?
I do not recommend doing it for free, no matter how expert you are in trekking. The paths are long, many of them you will be walking through the lush vegetation and getting lost is easy. The best thing is to hire a tour, there are some that you book to go with a group, there are some that you can do with an exclusive guide for you (+ your companions)... so you have several options.
I booked it from here and my experience is 100% positive: Excursion to Mount Rinjani 2 days of walking on the edge of the Senaru crater.
