Caño Hondo is a place little known by foreign tourism that little by little is gaining fame because it is a beautiful place surrounded by vegetation where you will find some buildings located in the middle of different natural pools, most of them offer their guests the possibility to stay. Although the accommodation is small, and it depends on the season, it is usually full.
Sometimes when they talk to you about the Dominican Republic, the first thing you think about is its beaches. But there are many places inside that you must visit if you want to live a 100% Dominican experience and you will not regret it.
For those who wish, Caño Hondo has a bar and restaurant, where every day it offers a wide variety of options for dishes and Creole foods from the region, with breakfast, lunch and dinner service.
Within Caño Hondo there is the possibility of doing different excursions to be in contact with nature. Through a natural and adventurous tour you can live an incomparable journey in which you can navigate the entire Caño Hondo River and San Lorenzo Bay, in addition to knowing the Caves of Los Haitises National Park.

My Experience in Caño Hondo, Dominican Republic
We loved it, being able to get up, open the window and have spectacular views of the lush forests and the sea in the background, listening to the birds, and in absolute tranquility it was a pleasant stop on the way. In addition to being able to enjoy the natural pools, surrounded by forests... and we ate great. As we were doing a route on our own, we did not take additional excursions, because we managed the Haitises park and its caves on our own by going directly to the Sabana de La Mar tourist office and it was much cheaper, I will tell you how to do it in the post of Parque de los Haitises and Sabana de la Mar for free. But if you dare to do any of the excursions offered by the accommodation, tell me about your experience :)
