Phu Quoc is a paradise located in the south of Vietnam. An island with paradisiacal beaches, lush green forests and a relaxed and calm atmosphere.
If you are thinking about including Phu Quoc in your Vietnam itinerary, you have a couple of options to get there and depending on where you are, one option or another will be more convenient for you.
In this post I tell you about how to get to Phu Quoc, and I also add several links so you can organize your trip to Vietnam and your days in Phu Quoc.
HOW TO GET TO PHU QUOC, VIETNAM
By plane, the fastest and most comfortable way to get to Phu Quoc
Almost all flights to Phu Quoc Island depart from Ho Chi Minh. My recommendation for touring the country is always from north to south and if you want to add Phu Quoc to your itinerary, the best option is for the last days of your trip, after having visited Ho Chi Minh and thus enjoy a few days of rest before the return home.
There are four local companies that fly to the island. The cost of the round-trip ticket from Ho Chi Minh, if you book in advance, is around 50 euros.
By ferry, an alternative to get to Phu Quoc
Another option to get to the island is by ferry. Although the ferries do not leave from any main tourist places, so you will have to take into account the trip to the port.
One of the ferry lines leaves from Ha Tien. The other ferry line leaves from Rach Gia. The ferry takes about 2 hours to reach Phu Quoc and the cost is around 15 euros round trip, with advance reservation.
