One of the main reasons to come to Seminyak is to enjoy not only the beach but also the amazing beach bars and cafes that are spread out along the shores and you will find plenty of options available. And it is an area with a lot of atmosphere.
People also flock to Seminyak for its nightlife. While Kuta has several nightclubs, Seminyak is more focused on beach clubs where you can have a drink, sitting on some colorful beanbag and with your feet in the sand.
In this area you can do your shopping in the most famous international and local stores in Bali.
In this post I tell you about what you can do in Seminyak.
WHAT TO DO IN SEMINYAK, BALI
If you like diving from Seminyak there are schools that not only allow you to get the title but also do outings and tours for those more experienced divers who already have the accreditation to dive.
You can't exactly dive in Seminyak, but there are a variety of dive sites within a short boat ride so you can enjoy the marine life of the area.
In Seminyak is the Nyaman Gallery. If you are interested in art, this gallery exhibits works by local artists. And the intention of the gallery is to encourage new artists.
If you are fascinated by horseback riding, it is a very popular activity to enjoy on Seminyak beach.
Trips along the beach generally take two hours and can go from Seminyak to Canggu. These excursions are done with a guide, you will not be able to go on your own.
Personally I am not a big fan of these excursions in which animals are used, but if you like this type of activity you can hire the excursion from the beach, in one of the several places where they offer it.
Take a bike route. You also have the opportunity to rent a bicycle and explore its streets and paths that run along the coast.
Bali par excellence has incredible places for surfing and all of us who love this sport have traveled all its coasts looking for the best waves.
Seminyak Beach is golden sand and is always less crowded than Kuta, although it is just as popular.
The waves here provide some surfing opportunities, although the waves can be a bit inconsistent and at times almost non-existent. That's why Seminyak beach is also a good place to go swimming.
If you are new to surfing, it is a good place to learn, and on the beach there are several schools where you can hire surf lessons.
Do not forget to visit Pura Petitenget, it is one of the six most important sea temples in Bali.
The temples line the coastline from Pura Luhur Ulu Watu, which is located on the Bukit Peninsula, and stretch to Bali's most famous temple, Pura Tanah Lot, in the west of the island.
Petitenget means 'magic box' and this is a reference to a magic box owned by a priest named Nirartha who would have lived in the 16th century. The priest regularly visited the temple, which is why it is named after the magic box.
Next to the Pura Petitenget temple, you will find the Pura Masceti temple.
Pura Petitenget is a sea temple and Pura Masceti is an agricultural temple used by farmers to pray to the gods.
Anyone linked to agriculture can come here to pray for rain or for insect pests to stop damaging their crops.
Ku De Ta is one of the most popular spots in Seminyak and is a beachfront bar that has great views over the ocean. It is ideal to go to see the sunset, having a drink.
There is also a resident DJ here that keeps the party going in the evenings and a restaurant where you can dine and enjoy the night. It is a very popular place where especially the residents of Bali (foreigners) come to hang out with friends.
If you are looking for some nightlife in Seminyak with an LGBT atmosphere, the ideal place is Bali Joe. It is one of the few openly LGBT places on the island.
Jalan Laksmana is one of the main streets in Seminyak and is known as a shopping paradise.
Here you will find a wide selection of great clothing brands for all budgets.
