This village, also known as Namsangol Hanok Village, was inaugurated in 1998. It is located at the base of Mount Namsan, in Seoul (South Korea) and will give you the feeling that you have gone back in time. The place is full of hanoks (traditional Korean houses). These houses in ancient times were a resting place for noble families and their name was Jeonghakdong.
In this post I talk about how to get there and what to see in Namsangol Hanok Village.
VISIT NAMSANGOL HANOK VILLAGE
You will be able to visit five of these traditional villages, which were part of Jeonghakdong, along the way. The most beautiful thing about the enclosure is that they have maintained in a very exact way how the villas were in ancient Korea.
The goal of opening the doors of Namsangol Hanok Village was to show the culture and traditions of old Seoul, to a city that was modernizing by the second.
Once you enter the enclosure you will see several buildings, not just the 5 villas. Also, one of the best things about the enclosure are its beautiful gardens.
The houses are built of wood, with an underfloor heating system, historical furniture and beautiful fireplaces.
