Near Bali are the Nusa Islands made up of the small island of Nusa Lembongan, the island of Ceningan and the large island of Nusa Penida.
Nusa Penida is characterized by untouched nature and its authentic character. Tourism is on the rise, but it is less developed compared to islands like Gili Trawangan and Bali.
Although it is very typical to do day trips, the ideal is to stay in Nusa Pedina for 2 or 3 days, to explore every corner of this beautiful place.
To get to Nusa Penida you will need a water transport. The best way is by speedboat, and you can get there from Bali, Lombok or Nusa Lembongan.

The most comfortable way to get around Nusa Penida is by motorcycle. Scooters are rented for about 7-8 euros a day and they don't even ask for a motorcycle or driving license. The roads in Nusa Penida are not very good, so you must be careful at all times. There is also the option of renting a car with driver. This service is quite common if several of you travel, and the cost is not very expensive, around 65 euros per day for about 9 or 10 hours.
The whole island is beautiful. With lush vegetation, wild landscapes and incredible viewpoints of its cliffs and the sea. Below I add the list of the most essential places to see in Nusa Penida:
This is probably the most famous place in Nusa Penida. The views are truly spectacular. From the viewpoint you can see the coast of the island, Keling King Beach, Diamond Beac and the dragon-shaped land exit. The dirt exit has a path with some “complicated” stairs where you can walk.
Broken Beach is a beach surrounded by cliffs and lush vegetation. A stone arch has been formed on the beach, creating a window to the wild sea that breaks forcefully against the stones. When the tide is low it is possible to go down to the beach, although it is not recommended, access is very complicated, steep and slippery.
Nusa Penida has many beautiful beaches. The vast majority tend to have quite a current and rough tide. They are perfect for surfing, but you also have calmer options. I have already told you about the beaches of Keling King, Diamond Beach and Broken Beach, but they are not the only beaches. Other beautiful beaches to see in Nusa Penida are Atuh Beach and Angel's Billabong, although you have many more.
Generally, everyone who comes to Nusa Penida comes looking for beaches and movie landscapes. But on the island, there are several places of cultural interest to visit such as its temples. Some of the most important temples in Nusa Penida are Pusa Goa Giri Putri Temple, Pura Ped Temple, Pura Paluang Temple, Pura Dalem Ped Temple and Pura Puncak Mundi Temple.
Daily tours depart from Nusa Penida to snorkel, dive, and swim with giant manta rays. If you dare, it is an incredible experience. These manta rays usually measure between 4 and 9 meters long.
My accommodation in Nusa Penida was at the 4-star The Mesare Resort hotel, I paid about 50 euros/night for a cabin with a private bedroom, and the hotel is amazing in the middle of the vegetation. We were great.
As a low cost, the 4-star Gangga Beach Bungalow Luxury hotel offers double rooms from 19 euros/night. It's great!!
